A few conferences did not plan to play this fall but changed their mind, with the Big Ten scheduled to kick off this coming weekend. DENVER —The Kansas City Chiefs didnt need the usual heroics from Patrick Mahomes to rout the Denver Broncos 43-16 Sunday for their 10th straight win over their AFC West rivals.
The Chiefs (6-1) found other ways to dominate Denver (2-4) on a snowy afternoon that began with a temperature of 14 degrees at kickoff.
Kansas City took a 24-9 halftime lead even though Mahomes completed just one pass in the second quarter, a 5-yarder, and had just 99 yards through the air in the first half.

Perhaps it’s unfair to harp on one moment from a three-hour football game. But for a team that has struggled to be competitive these last two weeks, it’s understandable if it feels indicative.
Facing a 3rd-and-10 on his own three-yard line midway through the third quarter, Dalton scrambled out of the pocket and dashed for six yards before sliding down to avoid contact.
